Make sure your phones are the one thing you don’t have to stress about next year.

You don’t think about your phone system until it breaks, confuses your team, or costs you a customer. This quick checklist walks you through what to check before the year ends so you’re not scrambling mid-Q1.

Skimmable Snapshot: What to Check Before the Year’s Over

❑ Still hearing phone complaints from your team?

❑ Know exactly what your current plan includes (and what it doesn’t)?

❑ Are your phones covered by a manufacturer’s warranty?

❑ Can your system grow with you, or is it already maxed out?

❑ Have you updated auto-attendants and emergency call settings?

❑ Is your support team helpful, or just forwarding tickets to nowhere?

❑ Got a backup plan for outages?

Is Your Phone Setup Still Built for the Business You Used to Be?

If your business has grown, shifted, or restructured this year, your phone system should’ve kept up. But most providers don’t make that easy. Instead of adapting to you, they ask you to adapt to them.

So, be honest. Are your people still grumbling about transferring calls? Do you avoid calling support because it’s never helpful? Still waiting on that “upgrade” someone promised in July?

That’s not how modern business phone systems should work. That’s frustrating.

Psst. At IParigon, we design reliable, human-first phone systems that work without drama. If that’s not your experience right now, it might be time for a change.

What’s Not Working What That Really Means What To Do About It
Clunky call routing or confusing menus Your system’s stuck in the past Simplify your interface and update call flows
No one knows who to contact for help You’ve outgrown DIY support Get a provider who actually answers
Outdated greetings or auto-attendants Customers are getting the wrong impression Refresh recordings and routing logic
No backup if something goes wrong You’re one hiccup away from chaos Add redundancy and cloud-based failovers
Adding new users is a hassle Your system’s not scalable Choose a setup that grows with you

What Else Should You Handle Before January?

Clean Up Admin Access

If past employees still have login access — or you’re still using the default admin password — it’s time to fix that. Don’t let a security gap follow you into the new year.

Take Stock of Your Devices

Got a few phones that are glitchy, cracked, or just… weird? Now’s the time to check what’s covered. All IParigon phones include a limited manufacturer’s warranty, but leased phones are supported differently. With a lease, IParigon manages phone replacements directly, so customers aren’t dependent on the manufacturer’s warranty. Accidental damage, such as spills or drops, is not covered.

Plan for Growth

Expanding

Expanding your team? Launching a new location? If you’re using VoIP for nonprofits, your communication system should flex with you without triggering a contract renegotiation every time you hire someone new.

. (Spoiler: Our Premier plan was built for this.)

This Is a Phone Provider Trust Check.

Does your current phone provider answer when you call? Do they fix things without making you chase them? Do they even know your name?

If you’re working harder than your phone company is, that’s a red flag.

Keep Communication Simple, Human, and Worry-Free

You’ve got bigger goals in 2026. Your phone system shouldn’t be one of them. Let’s make it the last thing you have to think about. At IParigon, we show up with real people and support that actually solves problems.

Whether you’re on VoIP for government now or just thinking about switching, we make it easy to find a phone system that fits your goals.

FAQs

Q: Do I get phones with your plans?

Nope, and that’s on purpose. Our Pro and Premier plans are built around service. Phones are optional add-ons, either leased or purchased separately.

Q: What if someone drops a phone?
If it’s a manufacturer issue, you’re covered. If it’s clumsy coworker damage, we’ve all been there, but that’s not covered under warranty.

Q: I’m already on VoIP. What makes IParigon different?
We’re not a faceless telecom giant. We actually answer the phone, fix problems fast, and tailor systems to fit how you work.

Q: Where do you offer service?
We’re rooted in the Midwest, including Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and so on, but we serve clients nationwide with the same hands-on support.

Q: How do I choose between Pro and Premier?
Pro works great for smaller teams. Premier’s built for larger setups that need advanced routing, multi-location management, and deeper consultative support. (Neither includes phones.)
